PARISH Geomorphic Ltd. was formally established in 1997 as an environmental consulting firm to offer experience in the field of geomorphology with an emphasis on the application of fluvial geomorphology. Over a few short years, our company has gained a solid reputation for providing reliable insight into fluvial processes that is rooted in current scientific understanding, as well as providing viable solutions to watercourse concerns with the aim of promoting long-term stability and protection of the environment. Along with applying the principals of fluvial geomorphology to various projects, contributions made by other disciplines (e.g., water resource engineers, biology) are recognized, respected, and integrated whenever appropriate.

PARISH Geomorphic Ltd. has completed work on more than 250 watercourses in both Canada and the United States for which various aspects of fluvial geomorphological investigations have been applied. Typical projects have included subwatershed studies, geomorphologic assessments of channel stability and erosion, stream rehabilitation and stabilization work with a special focus on improving aquatic habitat, natural channel design, planning exercises, and contributions to policy development. In addition to providing consulting services, the firm strives to remain current with the scientific literature, contemporary models, and any recent developments of geomorphologic processes. This is accomplished through memberships with various geomorphic or related organizations and regular reviews of scientific literature. As a result of work that has been completed, PARISH Geomorphic Ltd. has assembled a large database of watercourses and to contribute to the state of the science through publication in refereed scientific journals.
