In PARISH Geomorphic Ltd.’s continuing efforts to provide a high level of service and technical expertise, we are pleased to announce the opening of a new office in Fredericton, New Brunswick. The expansion is in recognition of the growing market in Atlantic Canada and the northeastern United States. It will also help us to better serve our existing clients in this area.
We are also pleased to announce that Aaron Corr (P.Eng) has joined the PARISH Geomorphic Ltd. Team as the Area Manager of the Eastern Operations based in Fredericton. Aaron has extensive experience in stream assessments and restoration, including several years in the northeastern United States. He has offered innovative and technically sound solutions for government agencies, municipalities, engineering firms and private clients since 1994.
PARISH Geomorphic Ltd. Was formally established in 1997 as a consulting firm to offer expertise in the field of geomorphology with an emphasis on the application of fluvial geomorphology. Along with applying the principals of fluvial geomorphology to various projects, contributions made by other disciplines (e.g., water resource engineers, biology) are recognized, respected, and integrated whenever appropriate.
Specific Areas of Focus are:
Watershed Assessments – This involves some mapping and aerial photograph analyses to evaluate the upstream watershed and characterize the channel
Channel Restoration – This can involve the stabilization of individual meanders, including bank erosion control, to several kilometers of channel realignment.
Monitoring – Based on this data, reference conditions can be provided and unstable channel reaches can be identified. Upon the collection of sufficient data, regional curves can be developed and applied to a range of management initiatives.
Method and Policy Development – Standardization is beneficial to ensure comparability of data from different studies and reliability of results.
Erosion Analysis – These studies provide an overview of existing conditions, baseline data for monitoring and erosion thresholds to guide in storm-water management.
