For: Educational Program Innovations Center
Instructed By: Chris Cummings and Aaron Corr
In an effort to promote environmental education for engineers, professionals from government, and industry, Parish Geomorphic was involved in designing and leading a restoration course at the Educational Program Innovations Centre in Mississauga. The course leaders, Aaron Corr and Chris Cummings, taught an intensive step-by-step curriculum to build upon common practices, with open interaction as a means of engaging group learning. Following the review of guidelines involved in stream management and restoration, the group was able to follow a series of detailed presentations, from which a greater understanding of the instruments involved in the geomorphic data collection was developed; emphasis was on the role of instruments in watershed and stream corridor assessment, and emerging field methodologies.
