Joanna is a senior fluvial scientist, specializing in river basin management and Environmental Assessment. Following her education at the University of Exeter (BSc.) and Imperial College, London (MSc.), she worked for eight years as an environmental consultant, primarily managing and delivering flood risk management and river restoration projects for the UK’s Environment Agency.
Since moving to Canada, Joanna has worked on several Subwatershed Studies, Class Environmental Assessments, feasibility studies and design projects. Her work has included meander belt width assessment, erosion threshold analysis and stream crossing assessment in accordance with Ontario protocols, as well as drawing on her past experience to develop pragmatic methods of environmental cost-benefit analysis. Joanna has presented at several national and international conferences in Ontario, Quebec and the UK and is a full Member of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management (MCIWEM, CWEM) and Society for the Environment (CEnv).
